Dior’s New Fine Jewelry Collection is Drop Everything and Look Amazing

Even though nothing in my personal jewelry box requires insuring, I still have a healthy appetite for looking at break-the-bank, so-gorgeous-I-could-cry jewels. And Dior’s new fine jewelry collection, named Archi Dior, definitely fits the bill on that one. Comprised of 44 pieces with too many carats for me to count, WWD reports that the items will be on show at Paris’s Biennale des Antiquaires from September 11 to 21 with prices ranging from approximately $383,225 to $3.15 million (you know, in case you have some inheritance money burning a hole in your pocket).

The above cuff, the Bar en Corolle Emeraude bracelet, is meant to mimic Dior’s famous Bar jacket, with the diamond band evoking the nipped silhouette of the classic piece. The colors of the 4,500 stones used were inspired by a dress Raf Simons designed for his first couture collection for the house in 2012 (seen below).

The above stunner, the Corolle Soir Saphir ring, is made up of over 1,000 stones, including an 8-carat sapphire. “You can view the rings from several angles…as if you had three rings in one,” designer Victoire de Castellane told WWD. “The idea is Dior architecture, so I started with sketches that featured draping and structured shapes, and I played with the idea of how you would drape and pleat the fabric if it were gold.”

Um, so who’s ready to daydream? They’re all pretty freaking fantastic, but if you got to have one come home with you, which would you pick? I’m all about either of those rings.
